Translation

Published in Poetry Magazine (March 2026 Issue)

Where there is no “we”

we are

sometimes lip to lip

sometimes apart

sometimes eye to eye

sometimes tongue-tied

lost in the vague geography of words

where we find ourselves again

you, my voice

I, your heartbeat

us, nomads of our mother tongue

in another tongue.

Translated from Persian by Armen Davoudian
